For the 4th quarter of 2010, caseloads for DSHS Basic Needs programs (TANF, GAU, and Basic Food) in Pierce County have risen by 17.1% when comparing the data from the same period in 2009. When comparing on a monthly basis, in December of 2010, there was a 15.8% increase compared to December 2009. The table below shows the caseloads for the three programs at the end of December 2009 and the end of December 2010, as well as the percent change for each program and the program totals.
