Population

There has been an estimated 16.2% increase in Pierce County’s population since the 2000 census, according to Washington State Office of Financial Management/Forecasting Division.  In 2000, there were about 700,818 compared to an estimated 814,600 in 2010. 

The population of Pierce County has increased by about 1.5% per year since 2000 which is slower than Snohomish County’s 1.6% growth per year but faster than Spokane County’s 1.2% growth rate per year.  Put another way, Pierce County’s population has grown by over 11,000 people per year since 2000.
